Lake Pleasant – Monday Clean-Up Crew

The Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department has created a Lake Pleasant Monday Clean-Up Crew for volunteers available any Monday morning in August, September and October. The clean-up crews will focus on maintaining and preserving the beautiful natural habitat of the lake and surrounding trails and shorelines.

Date: Every Monday from 8/1/24-10/28/24

Time: 6-8 a.m.

Location: Park at Castle Hot Springs dirt lot near the entry station. Meet with Park Assistant Doug Robertson at the main building at entry.

What to Bring:

  • Water
  • salty snacks and fruit (oranges are best for hot weather)
  • hat
  • sunscreen
  • closed-toed shoes/boots made for uneven surfaces
  • sunglasses
  • work gloves

Park team members will bring litter pickers and garbage bags for volunteers.

Event Description:

Volunteers will meet Park Assistant Doug Robertson outside of the main building at the entry station where he’ll sign them. After signing in, volunteers will be directed to where to park for litter pick-up efforts. Volunteers should be prepared to work in the early morning heat of the spring and summer picking up litter along the shoreline and throughout the park as directed by Doug Robertson. Volunteers should be heat tolerant and mindful of their walking and hiking ability.
