Cristopher Eugene McSparen Memorial Boat Cruise

Scorpion Bay Members, friends and coworkers joined with Mary McSparen to honor Cristopher Eugene McSparen and celebrate his life and legacy during a Memorial Boat Cruise on February 27. The cruise started at 5 p.m. near the damn and then looped the lake, using the central north islands as the turning point.

Cris’ family and Scorpion Bay staff were on the charter boats, leading the way. They were followed by dozen of boats of every shape and size. The cruise was initiated by the leading charter boat sounding the horn twice. More than a hundred boats then safely formed a train behind the charter boat. The charter boats returned to the slips right before a brilliant sunset, fitting for a man that impacted so many during his life.

Many others on the lake that have worked closely with Cris joined in the cruise as well, including many at Pleasant Harbor, vendors and Mariposa County Parks and Rec staff.

The marina will continue to work with Mary and the family to support them during this difficult time. While heartbroken, we’re grateful for each of our marina team and members and the opportunity we had to safely gather with his family to honor Cris at the February 27 boat cruise.

Scorpion Bay is Arizona’s premier floating playground, offering everything from daily pontoon and ski boat rentals to slips for harboring your yacht (or dinghy). Come for the fishing or come for the frolicking—either way, incredible mountain views, fantastic dining and world-class marina services await less than an hour out of Phoenix. https://www.scorpionbayaz.com/
